While Johann’s path originally began in hospitality, he found himself driven by a lifelong fascination with craftsmanship, manufacturing, and the work of artisans. A key source of inspiration for Johann has always been the transformative journey of materials: The possibility of going from something raw and untouched to something entirely new. While there are countless possible paths, he sees his own as an expression of a creative and attentive attitude toward the world. A pivotal moment in Johann’s life was acquiring his first sewing machine, which he never wanted to part with. This was followed by formative training at the Berliner Lette Verein. Since then, his journey has unfolded at a pace he finds both thrilling and surreal. At HADERLUMP, Johann sees success as the result of dedication rather than ambition.
